這次第一次用 german short row 做腳跟的部分
I got this yarn at a little yarn shop in Delft, NL when I visited my brother over Thanksgiving 2019. I’ve been wanting to knit some socks with self-striping yarn so this was perfect. I’ve come to the realization over the course of quarantine that I tend to buy a lot of blue yarn (and fabric) and I don’t particularly enjoy wearing blue. Anyway, something to keep in mind for the future.
No pattern. I did the cuff in 1x1 ribbing and the majority of the sock in 2x2 ribbing. I did a German short row heel, since my mom keeps telling me how great they are. She sent me this youtube video for the instructions for doing the German short row. Next time, I have to find a different German short row instructions where it starts and ends the short row on the same side so that it’s easier for me to switch between main and heel colors. I had to do some weird picking up of stitches to not have holes on the sides and not have to cut the yarn when switching to the heel color.
